Our Programs

Supporting Newcomers English Learning:

It is important to remember that newcomers might be young/old, educated or completely unschooled or in need of language support to access services in the community. Our newcomers’ adult programs concentrate on immediate practical needs – buying food, driving, using money, making an emergency phone call.
Other programs, often college-based aim at youth and students.
Throughout the years, All Nations Community Settlement Center has taught newcomers from all over the world including online English classes. We enjoy helping newcomers learn a skill they need and want

Newcomer Employment Support Services:

This program supports resources for newcomers to settle and find employment. As an organization, we give newcomers basic resources and information on how to live, give tours around the city, workshops on job skills and resume writing. Our employment support services for newcomers include;

  • Workshops for newcomers who have arrived from places where they haven’t had the chance to learn to read or write

    Community Connections Program:

    This program helps newcomers to be able to blend into the communities, become adaptive and considerate while still being themselves in society. We engage newcomers in any current activities that are available within the community for example volunteering services, Saturday night parties, sports, barbecues, community meetings; faith based activities as well as camping

    In addition we develop new activities or program that would enhance the community integration with newcomers through workshops, conferences and other training events.
    This program works with communities and individuals in creating positive spaces for social, economic and cultural integration.
    The program further gives newcomers the opportunity to show their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm in the community with members of the community

    Newcomer Youth Services:

    Our youth service program helps newcomers integrate into the society and one way is to volunteer in the community initiatives. Not only does All Nations Community Settlement Center provide a safe space for youth, but we also encourage newcomer youth to participate in the community through attending community spaces and other local events to stay informed on the issues of the community
    Our youth programs also include community service projects such as cleaning up, food drives, sports and exercise, arts and photography, music, dance and drama, education empowerment, training so as to make a positive impact on the community.
    These programs not only benefit the community, but also help newcomer youth develop leadership, behavioral transformation, communication skills enhancement, self confidence, team-work and problem solving skills

    Newcomers Education Program:

    This program supports newcomer children integration in schools through back to school events and donations, school referrals as well as connecting newcomers to the various learning centers for newcomers
    Over the past year, All Nations Community Settlement Center has foster newcomer children’ development in the education sector.
    Apparently many children are enrolled in school thanks to All Nations Community Settlement Center

    Newcomers Seniors Program:

    This program provides social and healthcare management for newcomers among the senior in Toronto. This project meets the following objectives;
  • Increase the ability of senior citizens to remain active, healthy and living independently in their communities
  • Improve the status of senior newcomers and increase that feeling of inclusiveness in the society giving them feelings of fulfillment and self-esteem
  • Provide spiritual services to the senior newcomers in Toronto (special masses, retreats and other kind of religion services)

    • All project activities provide opportunities for sufficient social interactions by encouraging newcomer seniors to be active, creative, participate and learning to learn.
    Learning how to socialize and being socially active, as well as being resourceful and independent at the same time among the significant indicators with positive impact on seniors’ quality of life

    Newcomer Mentorship Program:

    This program has been proven to have a positive impact on the well being of newcomers in our operation area. Mentorship is vital not only due to the knowledge and skills newcomers can learn from mentors, but also because mentoring provides professional socialization and private support to facilitate success within the community for newcomers.
